Yggdrasil Gaming Ventures into Italian Market

In January 2017, Yggdrasil Gaming revealed its plans to venture into the Italian market and it looks like the big picture is starting to take shape. Their HTML5 slots will be integrated into Italian-focused brands, bwin.it and Gioco Digitale, as a result of a partnership with GVC Holdings. A partner like GVC gives Yggdrasil an experienced partner as they navigate new territories.

During the first phase, 11 games, including Dark Joker Rizes, Nirvana and Vikings Go Wild, will receive approval under Italian gambling regulations and launch via bwin during 2nd quarter 2017. BOOST, BRAG and MISSIONS will debut in Italy along with the initial games launch.

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, commented, “We are thrilled to have joined forces with an operator as big and as respected as GVC to enter the Italian market.

“We will provide GVC’s Italian operations with a premium gaming platform to initially offer eleven certified games with a view to providing many more as the partnership develops.

“We have grown our footprint across Europe this past year. This is the latest in a long line of big deals, and shows the progress we are making and just how desirable our games and in-game promotional tools have become.”

Liron Snir, Chief Product Officer at GVC Holdings added, “Our mission is to offer our players the widest possible range of quality games.

“Yggdrasil titles have taken the market by storm and it is a great step for us to be able integrate this first-rate content into our Italian offer. What’s more, their in-game promotional tools are genuinely innovative, particularly the BRAG feature which was a real draw for us.”
