888 Enters New Jersey Sports Betting Market

International casino establishment, 888 Holdings plc, has officially launched a sportsbook in New Jersey, thus becoming the seventh operator in the state to provide sports betting services. 888 Sport NJ entered the market on Monday morning, right after another giant gaming aggregator, William Hill, introduced its sports products to The Garden State.

The company’s enduring partnership with Kambi will ensure that the sportsbook is powered in the United States under the same terms, since the provider supplies not only 888’s platforms in other regulated markets, but other premium NJ sportsbooks too – Play SugarHouse and DraftKings.

Separate Domain

Although some portals for sports betting have integrated their services into existing online casinos, 888 Sport NJ will offer its products on an entirely new domain –us.888sport.com. Nevertheless, account data and funds will be shared across the network, which covers casino, poker, and sports. Additionally, the operator will feature the same cashier options including PayPal, Neteller, PayNearMe, credit and debit cards, and more.

U.S. Expansion

At this point, 888 is the only provider in the United States that owns a gambling license in three states – Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey. The company is also getting ready to go live in Pennsylvania, thanks to the newly formed partnership with Mount Airy Casino. The Oil State legalized sports betting in October 2017, with new gaming sites coming in 2019.

888 conducts its gambling businesses in the United States under the license of Caesars Entertainment. The two companies reached an agreement for sports betting as well, helping the Gibraltar-based operator to set a strong foothold in the States. Itai Frieberger, CEO at 888 issued the following statement on U.S. expansion:

“The launch of 888sport.com in New Jersey is a major milestone for the company in our ongoing expansion across the regulated US online gaming market and provides 888 with a unique and truly multi-product proposition in what is currently the largest regulated US state. 888 has been committed to developing its position in the US since launching in Nevada, the first regulated US state, nearly six years ago and today we are the only operator with a presence in all three regulated US states. The group remains exceptionally well positioned to capture the potentially significant future growth opportunities as new regulation allows.”
