Hard Rock Atlantic City Opens June 28th

USA’s second-largest gambling city, New Jersey’s Atlantic City, is indeed facing something of a renaissance, as we previously reported.

On June 28th, the city will have a new exclusive venue opened – The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City resort! Hard Rock International has made the announcement which comes after they’ve invested $500 million into refurbishing and revamping the former Trump Taj Mahal property. The venue will be hosting more than 300 nights of live music during one single year and some of the already scheduled musicians include Kid Rock, comedian Amy Schumer, Blake Shelton, Steely Dan, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Counting Crows and Trace Adkins. During the summer only, more than 60 live acts will storm the stage of the place and provide amazing musical experience for guests and visitors.

It was announced at this past Wednesday’s press conference that the facility will have more than 2100 slots and 120 gaming machines. The hotel will be located on the Atlantic City boardwalk.

Hard Rock International Chairman, Jim Allen, commented: “We think it’s a great start. It demonstrates our commitment that we are about entertainment and not just about (a) casino. But, certainly, we look forward to continuing to book more acts and even larger acts. There’s some amazing acts on that list, but, certainly, I think the best is yet to come.”

He added: “Since the day we announced the purchase of (the property), we were certainly looking forward to letting the general public know that we’re going to live up to our commitments (of opening in summer 2018).”

Frank Gilliam, Mayor of Atlantic City, is overjoyed and excited to be welcoming the resort, calling this occasion “a game changer. Hard Rock is going to be phenomenal for Atlantic City. Not because it’s another casino but because their culture, what their brand is about, is what this city needs.”
