Kambi to Offer Sports Betting at Parx Casino, PA

Kambi Group has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Pennsylvania’s casino operator, Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment – and as a result of this, they will be implementing their own sportsbook and sports betting platform inside Parx Casino.

Preparing for Launch

Pennsylvania is merely inches away from kickstarting their own sports betting market – the 13 million-people state presents a very big business opportunity for bookmakers and platform providers

The state lawmakers issued the first licenses for sports betting in the beginning of October. In PA, sport betting licenses are quite costly at $10 million, and the tax rate is also quite high – 36%.

Prior to that, Pennsylvania’s regulatory body has given the green light to Fanduel to install their sportsbook platform in Valley Forge Casino.

Now Parx Casino, the state’s largest land-based facility, gets their own sportsbook, courtesy of Kambi Group. As a part of the package, they will also be obtaining necessary technology for running the business as well as a range of managed services.

Committed to Excitement

Kambi Group’s CEO, Kristian Nylen, expressed his delight with the finalization of yet another partnership for the company as it “continues to establish otself as the premier choice for operators looking to enter the US sports wagering market with a quality product and trusted partner.”

He added: “Greenwood Gaming is committed to delivering exciting gaming experiences to players in a safe and responsible fashion, therefore, when deciding to launch a sportsbook, Kambi quickly became the natural choice and I’m confident we will form a successful partnership.”

As soon as the Kambi platform integration draws to a close, Parx will also launch their own in-house sportsbook which will also have its online iteration.

Experts and gaming workers of the state estimate that PA’s sports betting market should be launched before the end of the year – more than six months after the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board passed the first regulations on sports betting.

Systems “Best in Class”

John Dixon, Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment’s chief technology officer, has stated: “We are excited to be working with an experienced, successful sportsbook partner that can bring best-in-class systems and odds making to the Parx-branded sports betting products.”

Dixon added that the entire company is absolutely certain that Kambi’s systems will provide secure and accurate wagering opportunities across many sports, both pre-game and in-game.

The contract of the signed agreement reads that Kambi will follow Greenwood in New Jersey, should the operator decide to roll out their sports betting services there.
