LeoVegas Rolls Out Swish Payment Service in Sweden

One of the esteemed gambling brands that have become a part of the newly re-regulated Swedish market is LeoVegas AB – they were, in fact, one of the first gaming companies to be given the green light by Sweden’s regulator. The obtaining of the new license meant the company is good to launch their websites to wider public of this Scandinavian country.

Their websites went live on January 1st – the very date in which the new Swedish market was officially reopened. Now, the firm is announcing they are bringing something along – Swish payment system, currently one of the most popular and widely used banking methods in Nordics.

Bigger Offer, Better Efficiency

Incorporating Swish with LeoVegas online casino has multiple benefits for this brand…

…Not only is this payment system used on a regular basis by 6.7 million Swedes, its usage will also substantially reduce the transaction costs for the casino.

Being a part of the well-regulated market also means that LeoVegas will be able to cooperate more closely with local banks and payment systems – the cost efficiency and strengthening of their offer are two crucial perks the company is looking forward from this.

Anna-Lena Wretman, a CEO of the company that owns Swish, Gatswish AB, comments: “Today Swish has 6.7 million users and 180,000 connected businesses. We are super pleased with our continued growth and that Swish is now being offered as a payment method on a growing number of platforms.”

A Perfect Fit For Sweden

Similarly enthusiastic about the whole thing is Gustaf Hagman, LeoVegas Group’s CEO who says that the company’s goal is to offer the “ultimate gaming experience for their customers.” This is made possible with the launch of Sweden’s fastest deposit method that is Swish.

He added: “Faster than this, you cannot make your payments and we are living up to our epithet: ‘lightning-fast deposits’. In addition, customers are securely identified via BankID. The fact that 63% of all Swedes use Swish every week[1] shows how popular Swish is, and it is therefore extra exciting that LeoVegas is now offering the favourite way of making payments in Sweden.”

Hagman stressed that teams have worked very closely and intensively in order to launch Swish almost as soon as LeoVegas launches its Swedish websites. He also mentioned the lowering of transaction costs as a win-win situation for all parties involved which exemplifies the new opportunities for LeoVegas and Swedish market in general.

A Quick Takeover

Originally devised as a cooperation between the six largest banks in the country, Swish allows for ultra-fast payments from users’ bank accounts. With more than 180.000 connected businesses, it was Sweden’s most recommended brand in 2017 and 2018.

LeoVegas has, in the meantime, announced the appointment of Avshalom Lazar as the company’s new Chief Compliance and Legal Officer who has said that he is “confident that together with LeoVegas management we would strengthen the company’s strategy even further.”
