Mark Wahlberg and Heidi Klum Attend AC Casino Openings

A new era of betting at Atlantic City’s Resort Casino began last weekend, when the venue opened its doors to celebrities and regular visitors. Among the first bettors was also Mark Wahlberg, renowned Hollywood actor, producer and director. Wahlberg placed a $100 bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl Cup in 2019, only to place another two bets on Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. The actor told the crowd that his bets always come from the heart, which is quite opposite to what a professional gambler would do.

Apart from his roles in big budget action-oriented movies like The Italian Job, The Departed and Planet of The Apes, Wahlberg also served as an executive producer of hit series’ Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, How To Make It In America and Ballers. The controversial actor who has a criminal record and assault conviction also starred in the remake of The Gambler in 2014, inspired by the famous Dostoyevsky novel. Wahlberg is married to Rhea Durham and has four children with her.

Among other casinos in New Jersey that recently opened is also HQ2 Beachclub. A former model of Victoria’s Secret, Heidi Klum, attended the opening and danced in bright yellow trousers and a striped bikini top. Klum is still a successful model, businesswoman, designer and singer, although she appears as judge on famous reality shows Germany’s Next Topmodel and Project Runway. She has been nominated for six Emmy Awards and was honored with the Crystal Cross Award by the American Red Cross for her charity work and philantropy.

CEO of the US branch at William Hill, Jo Asher, said that the appetite for sports betting in Atlantic City is on the rise thanks to recent developments in the industry, and he expects a successful year if the job gets done professionally. The Ocean Resort Casino is not the only betting house in New Jersey to open in the past few weeks. Hard Rock Casino had its debut on June 28th, after investing almost $500 million into renovating former Trump Taj Mahal property.
