Casino White Cloud – Operated by a Native American Indian tribe, the casino is located in White Cloud, Kansas. Casino White Cloud isn’t one of the larger casinos in the state with 21,000 square feet of casino games space. Casino White Cloud isn’t open 24 hours a day, so check the current hours before planning to play all night. Currently they close at 3 AM on weekends and 1 AM during the week.

Sac and Fox Casino – The Sac and Fox Casino is operated by a Native American Indian tribe and is located in Powhatten. With over 105,000 square feet of space, the casino has a small poker room, over 700 slot machines and video poker machines, and 14 table games including blackjack, 3 card poker, craps, and roulette. The property includes a buffet, lounge, and deli, and an RV park. With a few thousand more square feet than the Hollywood Casino, the Sac and Fox Casino is the largest in the state.

Kansas Star Casino – Located in Mulvane, the Kansas Star Casino boasts of almost 50,000 square feet of casino gaming space, a pizza restaurant, a Panini joint, and a hot dog stand. The poker room has 10 tables and the casino table game area houses over 50 games. The Kansas Star Casino has over 1,800 slot machines.

Prairie Band Casino and Resort – The Prairie Band Casino and Resort is located in Mayetta and is a Native American Indian casino. The 35,000 square feet of casino space is home to over 1,000 slot machines and 30 table games. You’ll also find a small poker room, a buffet, a deli, a Subway, a steak house, an RV park, and a casino with almost 300 hotel rooms.

Hollywood Casino – Located in Kansas City, the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway has 100,000 square feet of casino floor space. The property had planned to build a hotel on the property but recently postponed the construction. The good news is you can already find plenty of hotel room sin the Kansas City area, so it won’t keep you from traveling to the casino. With 2,000 video poker and slot machines, a poker room, and 60 table games the Hollywood offers games for every casino player.

7th Street Casino – The 7th Street Casino is located in Kansas City and has 20,000 square feet of casino game space and a deli. One of the smaller casinos in the state, the 7th Street has over 600 slot machines.

Golden Eagle Casino – Located in Horton, the Golden Eagle is a Native American Indian tribe casino with over 45,000 square feet of gambling space. The casino includes over 700 slot machines and video poker machines, a small poker room, a bingo hall with over 300 seats, 16 table games, and a buffet.

Boot Hill Casino and Resort – The Boot Hill Casino and Resort is located in Dodge City, Kansas. Owned and operated by the state, the Boot Hill Casino was the first state-run casino in Kansas. The property has 700 slot machines, a 5 table poker room, over 20 table games, a hotel with over 100 rooms, and a restaurant.

Race Tracks in Kansas

The laws in Kansas allow horse racing and dog racing but currently, there aren’t any operating tracks in the state. The last races were held in 2009. Slot machines were legalized for race tracks in 2008 but neither of the existing tracks could reach an agreement with the state to start offering slots.

Many believed the slot machines would save the race tracks, but when they couldn’t get the state to agree to their terms they ended up going out of business.

Poker in Kansas

Poker is only offered legally at the casinos licensed by the state. Most poker rooms are small, but games run regularly around Kansas City and in some other casinos around the state.


Kansas residents can play the state-run lottery games and they can also buy tickets for Mega Millions and Powerball. Mega Millions and Powerball are multiple state lotteries.

Kansas Sports Betting

Kansas doesn’t have any laws that allow sports betting of any type in the state. You can’t find any legal sports books or bookies operating in the state and no casinos take sports bets.

The only slot machines you can own as a resident of Kansas are the ones manufactured before 1950. This allows collectors to keep the oldest machines but outlaws any antique machines from the 1950’s and newer.

Kansas has laws that allow many organizations to obtain licenses to offer bingo games. Educational, religious, veterans, and other non-profit charitable businesses can conduct bingo games as long as they follow the nonprofit laws of the state. Pull tabs may also be sold during legal bingo games where they’re called instant bingo games. Individuals who live in Kansas aren’t allowed to own pull tabs for any reason.
